Maria came from a rural shelter. She was being held on a stray hold and during the several days she was there…she refused to leave her dog house. It took her days to even eat her food. We took her on knowing she had some shyness issues…but it turns out to be more than that. Maria is quite stubborn. If she doesn’t want to do something…she will make sure you know that. She is not safe to be placed in a home. She has some quirks that will not allow her to safely live inside with humans. She is in our indoor/outdoor building and has a large space to herself that she feels most comfortable in. She allows petting on her terms and loves treats! We find what makes a dog happy…and as long as we can safely feed and clean up her area she has a place to stay. She is not at all fearful…she’s quite confident now 🙂 and will surely let you know if you meet her! Want to make Maria’s stay with us even more enjoyable?
