Mikayla is a playful black German Shepherd mix. She is probably 40 pounds. She was abandoned inside of a crate in a house when they tenants moved. She was found and taken to the Kansas City shelter where she did not handle the stress well. She just trembled, cowered, and wanted to curl up and hide somewhere. They knew they couldn't find her a home like that and put her on the urgent list. We met her and knew there was another side to this dog that would flourish if given the chance. She went to a 3 week foster home and she became a different dog. She loves people once she knows you, loves other dogs, and loves to play with toys and other dogs. She does take a few days to adjust to a new home/environment/dogs/people. Once she realizes she is still safe then she starts to relax and shows how much she appreciates you giving her the time and love. She loves to run up and give you kisses.
