Clyde has survived the unimaginable. During the artic temperatures he was on a chain with minimal shelter and no regular feedings. He survived...others did not.
Clyde has some MAJOR food issues. He was deprived for so long with such sporadic feedings that it will take him quite awhile to realize he will not be hungry anymore.
The investigative team with the Missouri Humane Society helped with this situation and they took several of the adult dogs. We had committed to 2. Clyde was one of the ones we were given. He was having a very difficult time gaining weight at the humane society. This isn't uncommon...a dog that doesn't handle being caged well will sometimes spin/react poorly and be unable to hold their weight and gaining weight would be really difficult.
We are also a facility based rescue...so we are unsure if he'll gain weight or not, but we will try...and try to find him a home/foster home too!
Clyde is heartworm positive and that treatment will start as soon as he settles into our routine here. We've only had him a few days so far.
