Dodger was adopted by a wonderful family in St. Louis. He lived with them for a year or so before he passed away. Dodger will always be remembered. He was a great boy. This sweet pup loves attention! Dodger is a seven year-old Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix. He's had a rough past, so it takes him a while trust new people, but he is ready for a good home. He is housebroken, crate trained, and walks very well on a leash. Dodger does great with cats and other dogs, but would prefer a single story home with children over seven. If you open your home to this adorable cutie, he'll keep your feet warm this winter. We are guessing him to be 8 years old. He is good with cats, dogs, kids, etc. Dodger is a very emotional dog. He was left behind in a house when his owners moved away. The landlords found him a few days later and contacted us. Dodger was terrified of new people and wouldn't move...after some time we were able to get him to move out of the bedroom and outside. He forms a very strong bond once he trusts and loves you. He seems to have been abused in his previous house...he doesn't like to be yelled at and expects to be hit whenever he gets in trouble. He chewed up some toilet paper in our bathroom and I scolded him when I was cleaning it up. He remembered it hours later and was actually scared of me(just from 'bad Dodger' said in a tone). He needs a special home that will love him and help him learn people are not all bad. Dodger weighs 75 pounds. Dodger had entropion (http://www.upei.ca/~cidd/Diseases/ocular%20disorders/entropion.htm) when the eyelashes are on the inside of his eye and irritate his eyes when he blinks...he has had the surgery to correct this problem and we are asking for help with his vet bill. We are in desperate need of donations to help with our vet bill. Thank you very much!
