UPDATE: Nigel could use another grooming soon.
Nigel is a little fellow and he's just beautiful. He's likely 9 years old, he came from a 'commercial breeder' and he hasn't had any of the comforts/training of being a house dog or a cherished pet. He likely has arthritis in his back end, he gets a little weak on his hind end. The vet felt it was likely due to arthritis and we've started him on some supplements. He's a timid dog, he didn't know people like to just pet him. He associates hands with being grabbed and hurt. He was quite a matted mess when he arrived, but our friends a Kountry Kuts did a great job cleaning him up. He's been vaccinated, microchipped, and he's heartworm negative. He's ready to start learning what being a house pet is all about and he's ready to learn what being loved feels like. This guy will break your heart, but he's got so much love in him just ready to give to a human. He kisses your fingers when you reach for him and cowers down to the ground. Can you be his first real family? Can you patiently give him time and let him slowly learn the rules of being a house pet? Can you love him?
