I have a dog that is in need of surrender. She is sweet & cuddly w/my son & adults in our house. She is very protective & guard dog like. Extremely aggressive towards outsiders. She seems nervous/anxious at times. We got her for our middle son's 5th birthday (he's 9.5 now) She loves him and sleeps with him. They play and she's great. She cuddles w/ our 13 yr old too.we have a 2 year old she hates. She's aggressive towards and has nipped/bit twice. She is aggressive towards all the neighborhood kids ( 7-16) and attacked one this weekend
She's aggressive toward basically anyone but like 9 people. She bit our 2 year old on the check a year ago -this was after he crawled towards her face so we just tried to take steps to keep separated. This weekend all the kids were playing in the backyard and one girl came in the back gate while my other son was going inside & she sneaked past me on deck and attacked her. She is smart, house trained, & kennel trained ( which we could give up if needed) she needs to be muzzled on walks (which we have to give ) & uses a pinch collar (which we have) a single female home would be amazing as she is a great guard dog. She can be kind and loving but also angry.
We have tried it all. Behavioral therapist come to the house for training, socialization, medicine , and isolation, we have been stressing & working to keep her for so long so our son. However nothing is helping & this weekend showed that the smallest missteps can cause problems. We are lucky the kid she attacked is our friend so they are calm about it but we can no longer keep her .
She is on a 10 day quarantine with city of olathe for the bite. After that if I can't get her into a shelter or rehomed the only option is behavioral euthanasia. Olathe Animal shelter is full, Great Plains SPCA has denied her, i've got an inquiry in at KCPetProject and making others. I made an instagram reel and tweet about rehoming her that has been viewed over 2,000 times but no help offered. I am heartbroken and at a loss . Please Help.
